CLINICAL COORDINATOR
Winchester House is long-term care healthcare
facility owned and operated by Lake County. We are
currently seeking candidates for:
Clinical Coordinator
(Salary Commensurate with Experience)
Under administrative direction, performs work of
considerable difficulty in coordinating the quality
of care on assigned units. Performs complex and
varied tasks requiring knowledge, its application to
a variety of situations, as well as exercise of
independent judgment. This is
administrative/supervisory work of a broad nature
and includes the supervision of all nursing staff on
an assigned unit and resident care on a 24-hour
basis. This position reports directly to the
Director of Nursing and/or the Assistant Director of
Nursing.
Essential
Functions
Performs physical and psychological nursing
assessments on residents when necessary.
Reports all unusual circumstances that may involve
the safety and well being of the residents and staff
directly to the ADON or DON. Demonstrates leadership
ability and management skills through fair
decision-making, dependability and reasonable
expectations. Acts as House Supervisor at prescribed
intervals. Coordinates daily operations on the unit
to ensure quality clinical care and patient
satisfaction. Maintains quality care by reviewing
the daily census, staffing and pending
admissions/discharges, and adjusts assignments
accordingly.
Consults with the nursing staff concerning the
implementation of patient’s plan of care.
Reviews doctor’s orders and receives all new orders
to coordinate appropriate changes or services.
Attends and/or leads meetings with Nursing staff,
Nursing Administration, and/or physicians. Evaluates
subordinate professional and sub-professional
nursing personnel.
Identifies and implements staff development needs in
conjunction with Nursing Administration.
Identifies and resolves obstacles associated with
unit processes and procedures. Coordinates room
changes with nursing staff and admissions.
Collaborates in patient review with MDS Nurse.
Requirements
Completion of a
Bachelor’s Degree program in nursing or related
health field from a recognized college or
university. Possession of a current Illinois license
as a Registered Nurse. Experience in long-term care
facility acting in the capacity of supervisor,
preferred. Considerable knowledge of modern nursing
techniques, routines and methods as applied to
skilled care. Considerable knowledge of state and
federal resident care regulations. Knowledge of the
principle and practices of modern health care
administration.

background in health care and at least three years
of experience in nursing management. Must have
current license with state in good standing. You
need to be able to prioritize and organize, to
establish objectives and specify strategies and
actions to achieve those objectives. Considerable
interpersonal and communication skills are required,
as you need to communicate information and ideas
clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing,
to management, staff, patients and their families.

WINCHESTER HOUSE, LAKE COUNTY, IL
Director of
Nursing for Winchester House in Lake County, IL, located
between Chicago and Milwaukee in the northeast corner of the
state. Winchester House has been providing long-term health
care for the residents of Lake County for over 150 years. Its
name has become synonymous with excellent care and a model for
skilled nursing homes. Currently Winchester House has 240
occupied beds in it’s facility, which offers 24-hour skilled
nursing and intermediate care, in-patient rehabilitation,
including physical, occupational and speech therapy, as well as
specialized care for individuals with Alzheimers/Dementia. We
are seeking a unique and talented Director of Nursing who
embodies the “Person-Centered Care” philosophy, is a visionary
who can lead change, and models high quality patient care to our
staff. The qualified candidate will be a graduate of an
accredited school of nursing (BSN required), with a valid state
RN license and three years of management experience as a DON,
ADON or equivalent supervisory nursing experience. Long-term
care experience is preferred. Excellent organizational and
inter-personal, communication and team-building skills are
required. In addition, must have an inter-disciplinary
approach to problem solving, a sound financial background and
strong clinical skills. Knowledge of Restorative Services, MDS
and Reimbursement issues is desirable. Starting salary
$95,000+/- (dependent upon qualifications and experience) with
an extremely attractive benefits and retirement package offered.
